According to SteelOrbis, Turkish steel producer Hasçelik announced that it has completed the pre-verification audit for its Hasçelik 0 facilities, as part of its preparations for the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The audit, conducted by SGS, included a comprehensive assessment of the company’s greenhouse gas emission monitoring system, calculation methodologies, data management practices, and reporting processes.
According to the company, this pre-verification not only strengthened Hasçelik’s readiness to comply with CBAM requirements but also provided valuable insights for further improving its carbon management processes.
In this regard, Hasçelik stated that it will continue to develop its carbon management practices based on the principles of transparency, reliability, and internationally recognized standards.
